About the Role
Executive Sous Chef
Location: Tarzana, California | Premium Country Club
Salary Range: $70,000–$75,000
This is where leadership, execution, and growth come together.
Set within a premium country club in the San Fernando Valley, our culinary program is multi-outlet, high-volume, and member-driven, ranging from elevated à la carte dining to large-scale events and daily club activity. The kitchen is a central part of the member experience, and consistency, quality, and leadership are non-negotiable.
We are seeking a second Executive Sous Chef who operates as support to the Executive Chef, someone who leads from the kitchen, owns execution, and is ready to step into full operational responsibility when needed.
This is a developmental leadership role, designed for a chef ready to take the next step toward Executive Chef.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, timing, and execution across all outlets
- Act as the kitchen leader in the absence of the Executive Chef, maintaining full operational control
- Oversee menu execution and support menu development aligned with member expectations and seasonal programming
- Supervise, coach, and develop the culinary team, building accountability and strong kitchen culture
- Drive high standards in food quality, presentation, and consistency across all services
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and product rotation to maintain quality and control costs
- Analyze food and labor performance, supporting menu engineering and cost optimization
- Create and manage team schedules based on business levels and operational needs
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Engage with members through table visits and feedback, reinforcing a hospitality-first culture
- Partner with FOH leadership to ensure seamless execution and elevated dining experiences
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef in a professional kitchen
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage and develop a team
- Solid understanding of cost control, labor management, and kitchen operations
- Experience in multi-outlet or high-volume environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, both classic and modern
- ServSafe certification and health/sanitation credentials required
- Ability to lead under pressure while maintaining standards and consistency
