About the Role
Bishops Bay Country Club is seeking a hands-on Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This is a working leadership role for a chef who thrives on the line, leads by example, and values consistency, creativity, and teamwork.
Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will help execute the Club’s culinary vision across casual member dining, fine dining, and high-end events while supporting a positive, professional kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead from the front through active participation in daily prep and service
• Work the line during peak service, setting pace, standards, and execution
• Support menu development, seasonal features, and creative specials
• Execute and refine modern plating, garnishes, and composed dishes
• Train, coach, and mentor kitchen staff in a team-first environment
• Maintain food quality, consistency, sanitation, and safety standards
• Assist with purchasing, inventory, and food cost control
• Collaborate with Executive Chef, F&B, and Events teams
• Act as kitchen leader in the Executive Chef’s absence
• Engage professionally with members as needed
Qualifications
• 5+ years of progressive culinary experience (private club, fine dining, luxury hotel preferred)
• 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Fine dining and/or molecular gastronomy experience preferred
• Culinary degree or certification preferred
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Strong culinary fundamentals and modern plating skills
• Hands-on, calm leader with strong communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
