The Executive Chef at Amarillo Country Club plays a critical leadership role in overseeing all culinary operations, ensuring every dining experience meets the highest standards of quality and excellence. This leadership role involves directing daily kitchen functions such as à la carte dining, banquets, event execution, menu development, food purchasing, and the mentorship of the culinary team. The Executive Chef fosters a culture of excellence, consistency, and accountability, upholding the club’s values while maintaining impeccable food quality, presentation, sanitation, and professionalism.
The position requires close collaboration with the General Manager, Clubhouse Manager, and Director of Finance, aligning the culinary operations with the club’s strategic vision. The Executive Chef shapes the club’s culinary identity, enhances member engagement through innovative dining experiences, and supports the club’s reputation as the premier private club in the Texas Panhandle.
Ideal candidates bring a minimum of five years of leadership experience in a full-service private club, resort, or high-end hospitality environment. They possess demonstrated expertise in menu development, banquet operations, kitchen management, staff leadership, and financial discipline. Experience working with House or Food & Beverage Committees is essential, given the importance of governance and alignment in the private club setting. The ideal leader is hands-on, highly visible in daily kitchen operations, and skilled in recruiting and nurturing high-performing culinary professionals.
The Executive Chef must exhibit versatility across diverse cuisines and dining formats, delivering both elegant and approachable offerings that resonate with the membership. Expertise in seasonal menu planning, product sourcing, cost control, and culinary innovation is crucial to maintaining consistency and variety. This role also involves creating memorable culinary events, such as themed dinners and wine pairings, which elevate the dining culture and member satisfaction.
A consistent presence in the kitchen and active engagement with members to solicit feedback and build relationships is fundamental. Strong organizational skills, financial acumen, and rigorous adherence to food safety and sanitation standards are mandatory. The Executive Chef manages food and labor costs prudently, ensuring operations remain within budget while exceeding member expectations.
