Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Golf Course Mechanic Company: Ocean Resorts Golf Club Location: Ocean Pines, MD Ocean Resorts Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Golf Course Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of a diverse fleet of specialized golf course equipment, including gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered machinery. This position is a perfect fit for a retiree looking for a stable, active environment with early morning hours, or a recent graduate fresh out of mechanic school looking to gain hands-on experience with complex hydraulic and electrical systems. Key Responsibilities • Equipment Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical defects in various equipment, including riding mowers, tractors, golf carts, and utility vehicles. • Preventative Maintenance: Execute a regular PM schedule including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements to ensure equipment longevity and safety. • Cutting Unit Maintenance: Sharpen mower blades using grinders and adjust cutting reels to specific heights of cut to maintain optimal turf conditions. • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all service work, repairs, and parts inventory. • Shop Management: Keep the maintenance shop and work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to prioritize repairs and train the grounds crew on safe equipment operation. Qualifications • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; a one-year certificate from a technical school is a plus for those starting their career. • Experience: Previous mechanical experience (automotive or small engine) is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate with strong mechanical aptitude. • Skills: Basic knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and electric motors; ability to use common mechanical tools and interpret technical manuals. • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various outdoor weather conditions. • License: A valid driver's license is required.
