Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizes precise programs for the application of all pesticidesMaintains Audubon Certified Status for the golf coursePractices sound agronomic principlesAssists in the selection of equipmentAssist in the establishment of all national buying programsMaintains all appropriate documentation, i.e. spray logsIdentifies annual capital expenditure needs through the budget process short and long termCreates annual budget designed for the specific needs of the golf courseResponsible for inventory control of facilityPlans and establishes cost effective work schedules for personnelResponsible for interviewing, hiring and training crew members; planning, assigning, and direction or work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; addressing complaints and resolving problemsProvides leadership and motivation for all crew membersEstablishes overseeding programsCommunicates regularly with management, golf staff and members
Safety Responsibilities And Requirements
Provides leadership, communication, training, support and attention to safety programs, systems and techniquesSets budget, goals and objectives for continued monitoring and improvement of safety programsPerforms risk assessment as part of decision and problem solving processTakes personal responsibility for safety every day
Qualifications/Requirements/Experience/Education
BS or Associates degree in Agronomy or Turf Grass Management or related fieldMinimum of 10 years experience in all phases of golf course managementKnowledge of financial forecasting for a golf course operationGA Pesticide LicenseParticipates in continuing education opportunitiesParticipates in professional organizations such as GCSAA and GGCSAParticipates in Greens Committee meetings as requiredAbility to lead and motivate team
