Useless Bay Golf & Country Club is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and performance of all golf course equipment. This leadership role is essential in delivering the championship-level course conditions expected at a premier private club. The Equipment Manager works closely with the Director of Agronomy and maintenance team to ensure all the equipment is safe, efficient, and maintained to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair all golf maintenance equipment, including greens, fairway, and rough mowers, utility vehicles, and small engines.
- Perform and document a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
- Grind, sharpen, and adjust reels and bedknives to ensure optimal turf quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe and highly organized shop.
- Manage parts inventory, ordering, and cost control.
- Keep detailed service and maintenance records.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational records.
- Assist in the equipment lifecycle planning, budgeting, and capital purchases.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work.
- Train and mentor staff on proper equipment use and care.
Requirements:
- 3-7 + years of experience in turf equipment maintenance (private club or high-end facility preferred).
- Strong expertise in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engine repair.
- Advanced experience with reel grinding, mower setup, and precision adjustments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical issues.
- Experience with maintenance tracking systems or basic computer skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
