Equipment Manager

Deercreek Country Club is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable Equipment Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative care of all golf course maintenance equipment. This position plays a critical role in supporting the golf course maintenance operation by ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and operating efficiently to maintain exceptional course conditions for our members and guests.
The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically skilled, proactive, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient equipment operation.
Essential Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain golf course maintenance equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and related tools
Establish and manage a preventative maintenance program for all equipment and vehicles
Perform grinding, sharpening, and adjustment of reels and bedknives to ensure optimal turf performance
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, parts inventory, and service schedules
Order and manage parts, supplies, fuel, lubricants, and shop inventory while monitoring expenses
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment maintenance facility
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
Coordinate equipment priorities with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents
Assist with equipment setup and troubleshooting for tournaments and special events
Train golf course maintenance staff on proper equipment operation and daily care procedures
Monitor equipment replacement needs and provide recommendations for capital planning
Respond promptly to emergency repair needs to minimize operational downtime
Qualifications
Previous experience as an Equipment Manager, Golf Course Mechanic, or similar mechanical role required
Experience maintaining golf course maintenance equipment preferred
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, welding, and small engine repair
Experience with reel grinding and cutting unit setup preferred
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues efficiently and independently
Strong organizational and inventory management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with changing priorities
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
