About the Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Golf Operations to oversee all aspects of their premier golf facility. This hybrid role requires a strategic leader who can manage daily operations, drive revenue growth, and enhance the overall member and guest experience. You will be responsible for the management of the golf course, pro shop, food and beverage outlets related to golf, and all associated staff.
The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for the game of golf coupled with strong business acumen and exceptional leadership skills. You will develop and implement strategic plans to optimize course conditions, enhance player development programs, and manage inventory and merchandising effectively. This role demands a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive and professional work environment. You will work closely with the management team to ensure the golf operations align with the club's overall vision and financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the golf course, including tee times, pace of play, and course maintenance coordination. Manage the pro shop, including inventory control, merchandising, pricing, and staff supervision. Develop and execute strategies for increasing golf revenue through tournaments, leagues, lessons, and special events. Ensure exceptional customer service for all members and guests. Supervise, train, and motivate all golf operations staff, including golf professionals, starters, rangers, and retail associates. Develop and manage the annual budget for golf operations, monitoring expenses and revenue streams. Collaborate with the agronomy team to maintain pristine course conditions. Implement and enforce club policies and procedures related to golf operations. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in golf management. Contribute to marketing and promotional efforts to attract new members and players. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Golf Management, Business Administration, or a related field; PGA certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in golf operations management. Proven track record in revenue generation and cost control within a golf facility. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in golf course management software and POS systems. Knowledge of golf course agronomy and maintenance practices. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. This hybrid position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, US , requiring presence at the facility several days a week with flexibility for remote administrative tasks.
