About the position The Grounds Maintenance Tech position works on a diverse range of activities involved in the maintenance and daily preparation of the golf course. They are responsible for grounds construction, maintenance work, and other related tasks as required. Responsibilities Become proficient at operating machinery or small equipment as it pertains to maintaining a golf courseOperate powered equipment to mow greens, approaches, fairway, tees, and roughOperate an edger and string trimmerManages areas planted with trees, shrubs, and flowersSet up the course tee markers and change cupsMaintain ball washers, water hazards, and bunkersOperate light equipment essential to haul materials and remove debris around the courseTrims trees, prunes shrubs, and pulls weeks as neededPerform duties in a courteous and professional manner to ensure meeting guest's needsProvide superior service when interacting with guests and team membersShow initiative and seek additional assignments that will better serve guestsPerforms other duties as requiredRequirements Participate in and help maintain a harmonious work environmentExhibit appropriate behavior and work ethic is expected of all employeesSelf-motivated with desire to complete projects in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to work alone or in a group on a specific taskOpen to being trained and coached on various ways to complete assigned tasksFollow all safety rules and proceduresKeep all golf course equipment and tools in a clean and good working orderService and guest focused attitudeMust be a highly motivated individualMust have the ability to perform physical tasks related to the operation of small equipment and toolsHigh School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by two years of golf course experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
