Job Title: Banquet Cook
Job Summary:
The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food for banquet events and large group functions. This role ensures consistency, timeliness, and adherence to food safety standards while working closely with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook menu items for banquets, events, and large-scale functions according to established recipes and standards
• Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely and consistent manner
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
• Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth event execution
• Monitor food inventory and report shortages or issues to the supervisor
• Assist in setting up and breaking down banquet kitchen stations
• Adapt quickly to changing event needs and guest counts
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environments
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25–50 lbs / 11–23 kg)
• Comfortable working in a hot and busy kitchen environment
