About the Role
Overview
As the Sous Chef at Landis Creek Golf Club, you will play a pivotal hands-on role in executing kitchen operations, managing the culinary team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food items to bar/restaurant guests of Creekside Sports Bar & Grille including seasonal patio, event guests of The Loft at Landis Creek including the Loft, Eagle Room, & Loft Lounge, and golfers at Landis Creek Golf Club. Your leadership, organizational skills, and culinary expertise will contribute to a positive dining experience and the overall success of our venue. This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications required for the position.
1. Kitchen Leadership and Supervision:- Lead and manage the kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.- Delegate tasks, provide direction, and ensure efficient kitchen operations.
2. Menu Planning and Execution:- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and develop menus that align with guest preferences and the designated concept.- Oversee the execution of menu items, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
3. Food Preparation and Cooking:- Prepare and cook complex dishes and menu items, demonstrating culinary expertise.- Train and guide kitchen staff on advanced cooking techniques and methods.
4. Inventory and Procurement:- Manage inventory levels of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients.
5. Quality Control:- Conduct regular quality checks to maintain high standards of taste, presentation, and portioning.- Address any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
6. Health and Safety Compliance:- Enforce strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.- Monitor kitchen practices to minimize risks and maintain a safe working environment.
7. Staff Training and Development:- Provide training and coaching to kitchen staff, focusing on culinary skills, safety protocols, and teamwork.- Encourage professional growth and continuous learning among team members.
8. Communication:- Foster open and effective communication with front-of-house staff, servers, and management.- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
9. Special Events Coordination:- Participate in the planning and execution of special events, including but not limited to weddings, social & corporate gatherings, and golf outings, ensuring timely and quality food preparation.
