We proudly offer three championship golf courses, available for play nearly every day of the year, along with award-winning practice facilities both indoors and outdoors. We are looking for a Fashion/Retail Intern to join the Fiddler’s Family and share their passion for hospitality with our members, guests, and fellow staff members. Fiddler’s Elbow has four food and beverage outlets and hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within Fiddler’s, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones with us.
Fiddler’s Elbow Fashion/Retail Internship Program will offer current students a unique opportunity to gain real world and hands on experience and develop in a unique country club setting.
Under the general supervision of the Retail Operations Manager and Human Resources Manager, our Intern will be responsible for supporting the Golf Shop team on department-related responsibilities. The Intern will gain experience in a wide variety of functions including basic inventory/stocking and visual merchandising, member engagement, golf and pro shop experience and event participation.
The Fashion/Retail Internship Program includes:
• 12-week program with a minimum of 30 hours on-site each week at a pay rate of $17.50/hour
• Dedicated work with Golf Outings & Pro Shop responsibilities
• Experience with the Golf Outings Manager to learn how to organize and execute the golf outings and communication between the various departments that make them a success, as well as retail experience with the Pro Shop team as it pertains to daily functioning and special events
• Promotes a positive work environment through effective communication and creating a warm and engaging atmosphere
• Assist the Retail Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of the golf shop
• Assist with golfer check-in and help prevent mistakes with merchandise sales and tee time billing
• Training in all opening and closing procedures
• Learn to merchandise the golf shop to ensure all displays and mannequins are changed often
• Make sure that current product is displayed to the best ability and is represented well
• Maintains excellent organizational skills and moves product to the floor daily
• Remain current on new merchandise and trending products through a variety of platforms.
• Uses creativity for new sale ideas
• Engages daily with members
• Engage with members immediately upon entering the golf shop and raise the level of service regarding their shopping experience
• Learn awareness of the products we carry, the differences between products and trained in the use of sales techniques
• Ensures the golf shop is cleaned daily (vacuuming, cleaning the windows, and back-office area is neat).
• Consistently prepares and tags merchandise to be put out on the floor
• Assists in inventory control of merchandise and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point-of-sale system, pricing procedures, inventory, display, and sales
• Promotes a positive image within the company and community, always smiling with a “Yes We Can” attitude
• Assists other departments as needed
• Weekly check-ins with the Human Resources Manager Mentor
• Housing is available near property at $100/week (must provide your own transportation)

Required Education/Experience:
• Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college student or recent graduate with a focus/degree in Fashion, Retail, Merchandising, Business or a related degree preferred. Applicants should possess a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
• Previous Hospitality and/or Retail/Fashion experience is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is preferred
Required Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to communicate and understand the predominant language of our members and guests.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employment sponsorship
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry trays/objects weighing up 30+ pounds through a crowded room
• Ability to handle many tasks at once
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe and lift to perform job functions
