Fiddler’s Elbow has four food and beverage outlets and hosts a wide range of events from comedy shows and concerts to Fourth of July celebrations and New Year’s Eve festivities, our annual FiddleFest Music and Food Festival, golf outings and sporting events. We also host smaller clubs within Fiddler’s, such as our beloved Book Club and Cigar Club. Our members host many private events like weddings, social events, and celebrations of life milestones with us.\n\nFiddler’s Elbow Fashion/Retail Internship Program will offer current students a unique opportunity to gain real world and hands on experience and develop in a unique country club setting.\n\nUnder the general supervision of the Retail Operations Manager and Human Resources Manager, our Intern will be responsible for supporting the Golf Shop team on department-related responsibilities. The Intern will gain experience in a wide variety of functions including basic inventory/stocking and visual merchandising, member engagement, golf and pro shop experience and event participation.
Responsibilities
Dedicated work with Golf Outings & Pro Shop responsibilitiesExperience with the Golf Outings Manager to learn how to organize and execute the golf outings and communication between the various departments that make them a success, as well as retail experience with the Pro Shop team as it pertains to daily functioning and special eventsPromotes a positive work environment through effective communication and creating a warm and engaging atmosphereAssist the Retail Operations Manager in the day-to-day operations of the golf shopAssist with golfer check-in and help prevent mistakes with merchandise sales and tee time billingTraining in all opening and closing proceduresLearn to merchandise the golf shop to ensure all displays and mannequins are changed oftenMake sure that current product is displayed to the best ability and is represented wellMaintains excellent organizational skills and moves product to the floor dailyRemain current on new merchandise and trending products through a variety of platforms.Uses creativity for new sale ideasEngages daily with membersEngage with members immediately upon entering the golf shop and raise the level of service regarding their shopping experienceLearn awareness of the products we carry, the differences between products and trained in the use of sales techniquesEnsures the golf shop is cleaned daily (vacuuming, cleaning the windows, and back-office area is neat).Consistently prepares and tags merchandise to be put out on the floorAssists in inventory control of merchandise and special orders including ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point-of-sale system, pricing procedures, inventory, display, and salesPromotes a positive image within the company and community, always smiling with a “Yes We Can” attitudeAssists other departments as neededWeekly check-ins with the Human Resources Manager MentorRequirements

Currently enrolled as a full-time or part-time college student or recent graduate with a focus/degree in Fashion, Retail, Merchandising, Business or a related degree preferred. Applicants should possess a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higherPrevious Hospitality and/or Retail/Fashion experience is preferredProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word is preferredBenefits
