Aquatics Director
Reports To: Clubhouse Manager
Supervises: Assistant Pool Managers, Lifeguards
Pay Range: $25 - $35 per hour, based on experience
Seasonal/Part-Time Position: April – October
Position Summary
The Aquatics Director is responsible for the overall operation, safety, cleanliness, and member experience of Riverton Country Club’s aquatic facilities. This role oversees all pool staff, ensures compliance with safety and health standards, manages budgets and scheduling, and delivers high-quality programs and events for members of all ages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are representative of the position, but additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all pool staff, including assistant managers and lifeguards
• Develop and manage weekly work schedules and staff rotation schedules
• Ensure proper chemical balance of pools and oversee pool mechanical systems in coordination with the Maintenance Department
• Maintain accurate payroll records and staff timekeeping
• Oversee member registration at the pool and ensure proper charges for guests, lessons, and programs
• Provide ongoing staff orientation, training, and performance feedback
• Enforce all club rules, pool safety standards, and codes of conduct
• Plan, organize, and supervise pool events, activities, and special programs
• Develop and manage the annual pool operating and staffing budget; take corrective action to meet budgetary goals
• Maintain detailed records including pool attendance, chemical logs, accident and incident reports, staff schedules, and timecards
• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive pool safety and emergency procedures
• Ensure the cleanliness and overall appearance of the entire pool facility and confirm staff are properly trained in cleaning protocols
• Coordinate pool activities with other club departments, including Food & Beverage and other amenities
• Be available for rules interpretations, decision-making, and coordination during pool events
• Ensure inclusive programming is offered to serve the full membership, including juniors, adults, and seniors
Qualifications
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in swimming pool or aquatic facility management
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required or willingness to obtain
• First Aid and AED certification
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage staff, budgets, and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of local and state health department regulations related to aquatic facilities
• Proven ability to deliver high levels of member service in a private club or hospitality environment
Work Environment
· Outdoor physical work, as well as some indoor administrative work
