Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, crew members perform demanding outdoor physical labor, including early morning mowing, raking bunkers, changing pin placements, and operating turf equipment. Responsibilities Maintain the golf course's turf, fairways, greens, and roughs through mowing, edging, aerating, and fertilizing to ensure optimal playing conditions. Operate power tools such as chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers safely and efficiently to perform landscaping tasks. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues to prevent over or under-watering. Perform landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, mulching, and pest control using appropriate pesticide management techniques. Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or materials safely during course setup or renovation projects. Use hand tools and power tools responsibly to repair or install course features like bunkers, pathways, or signage. Assist with general gardening duties and horticulture practices to promote healthy plant growth across the course. Requirements Prior experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; a willingness to learn is essential. Ability to operate power tools safely, including chainsaws, trimmers, mowers, and irrigation equipment. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks throughout the workday. Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic troubleshooting skills are advantageous. Knowledge of lawn care techniques such as mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest management. Strong attention to safety standards related to power tool use and pesticide application. A proactive attitude with excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other groundskeeping staff.
