Job Summary:
A GIGCC server is responsible for providing an impeccable dining experience for all our members and their guests by exercising the highest degree of professionalism and hospitality skill. By using the standards and procedures provided, the GIGCC server will ensure the successful delivery of a positive dining experience. A GIGCC server will take charge of his or her section, by responding to the needs of our members and their guests with a sense of urgency. They also will promote a sense of camaraderie as teamwork and gracious hospitality are hallmarks of our club.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide friendly and attentive service to members and guests, ensuring a high-quality dining experience.
● Gather the necessary items in order to set up your section and ensure your section is fully detailed for the evening- glassware and silverware is clean and polished, napkins are clean and appropriately folded and table linens are fresh, clean and wrinkle free.
● Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, repeating orders to confirm details.
● Have thorough knowledge of the menu, daily specials and beverage offerings to make recommendations and answer questions.
● Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring proper presentation and order accuracy.
● Monitor tables for cleanliness, replenish beverages, remove used plates and silverware and reset tables efficiently.
● Accurately enter orders into the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and process payments, ensuring proper billing procedures are followed.
● Adhere to GIGCC service standards, dress code and policies to maintain a refined atmosphere.
● Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders and fellow servers to ensure smooth service flow.
● Assist with private events, banquets and club functions as needed.
● Attend required pre-meal meetings daily.
● Follow all food safety, sanitation and liquor service regulations to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Required Skills, Abilities and Experience:
● Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
● Ability to relate to members and follow proper etiquette guidelines.
● Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficiently to understand menus, record orders, communicate with members and their guests to explain all food offerings and record special requests.
● Ability to remember, recite, upsell and promote a variety of menu items.
● Ability to move throughout a crowded dining room and outdoor areas to serve guests.
● Ability to to effectively deal with member and guest complaints and concerns in a courteous and professional manner. This involves carefully listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy and providing a positive, proactive solution.
