Caves Valley Golf Club is seeking a highly talented Assistant Pastry Chef to assist our Pastry team. A passion for pastry arts and a visionary behind the Club’s exceptional dining experience will be necessary. The successful candidate will be proficient and skilled in setting standards, best practices, standardized recipes, team development and member/guest relations. The ideal candidate is a genuine craftsperson who sincerely understands the need for everything to be exceptional. He/she is honest, trustworthy, hard-working, self-disciplined and organized. The new Assistant Pastry Chef will find that they will be working with a passionate and dedicated staff and an appreciative membership who value exceptional dining and personalized experiences. Job Description:
- Reports to the Executive Pastry Chef
- Gains the trust of the team members
- Has a solid background of pastry arts, recipe development, plating techniques and finesse
- Promotes a positive, engaging, responsive, and highly competent professional pastry culture
- Communicates and collaborates effectively among all departments. Creates a culture of excellence and unity within his/her department
- Works closely with the Pastry Chef to develop new recipes, upholds standardized recipes and brainstorms on ways to elevate the member experience
- Monitors safety conditions and employees’ conformance with safety procedures
- Responds to member feedback and continuously elevates the Club’s pastry offerings
- Takes tremendous pride in making Members happy, exceeding their expectations and fosters accountability among the team, both in the kitchen and Clubhouse
Qualifications:
- Passion for pastry arts, aware of current trends/techniques, an eye for food art/designs/displays
- Highly Organized
- Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Experience in luxury and fine dining restaurants, private clubs or top-rated hotels
- Strong sense of accountability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills
- ServSafe Certified
- High school diploma (Four-year college degree in pastry arts preferred)
