The Head Golf Professional will oversee all aspects of the golf operation, including club fitting, instruction, tournament management, and retail operations. Key duties include managing the golf shop inventory, staff supervision and training, coordinating major club events, and ensuring the highest standards of service are met. The ideal candidate will be a PGA Class A professional with a proven track record in golf operations management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are paramount for building relationships with members and staff. A passion for the game of golf and a dedication to the growth and development of member golf is essential. Experience with golf course management software and point-of-sale systems is required. Key Responsibilities:
Manage all daily golf operations, including the golf shop, practice facilities, and player services. Provide expert golf instruction and player development programs for members of all ages and skill levels. Oversee club fitting services and maintain an up-to-date inventory of golf equipment and apparel. Plan, organize, and execute club tournaments, social events, and clinics. Supervise, train, and mentor golf shop staff. Manage the golf shop budget and financial performance. Maintain strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and preferences. Ensure compliance with all club policies and procedures. Collaborate with the golf course superintendent to maintain course playability and condition. Promote the game of golf and enhance the member experience. Qualifications:
PGA Class A Professional certification. Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf operations management, preferably at a private club. Proven experience in providing effective golf instruction and player development. Strong knowledge of golf equipment, fitting techniques, and retail management. Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Experience in tournament and event management. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, ForeTees) and POS systems. A passion for golf and dedication to member satisfaction. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
