About the Role
Our client, an exclusive golf club in the prestigious **Los Angeles, California, US** area, is seeking a highly experienced and charismatic Head Golf Professional. This senior role requires a deep understanding of golf operations, exceptional player development skills, and a commitment to providing a world-class member and guest experience. The ideal candidate will be a PGM graduate or equivalent, with a strong track record in managing all facets of a golf operation.
Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the golf operations, including tee sheet management, daily play, course setup, and pace of play. Develop and implement comprehensive player development programs for all skill levels, including individual lessons, clinics, and junior camps. Manage the golf shop inventory, including merchandise selection, purchasing, pricing, and visual display. Supervise and mentor assistant golf professionals and golf operations staff. Organize and execute club tournaments, events, and member activities. Ensure a high level of service for all members and guests, fostering a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Maintain strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and preferences. Manage the golf budget, including forecasting revenue and controlling expenses. Collaborate with the Head Golf Course Superintendent on course conditions and playability. Stay current with golf industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Uphold the club's standards of excellence in all golf-related activities. Qualifications: PGA of America Professional certification (PGA Class A Professional) is required. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in golf professional roles, with at least 3 years in a Head Golf Professional or equivalent leadership position. Demonstrated success in player development, teaching, and coaching. Strong understanding of golf shop operations, inventory management, and retail merchandising. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and control costs. Experience in organizing and executing successful golf events and tournaments. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, ForeTees) is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Golf Management, Business, or a related field is highly desirable. A passion for the game of golf and a commitment to delivering exceptional member services.
