About the Role
Our client, a prestigious golf club in Boston, Massachusetts, US , is seeking an experienced and charismatic Head Golf Professional to lead their golf operations. This is a highly visible role requiring a blend of exceptional golf instruction skills, strong management capabilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding member and guest experiences. You will be responsible for the overall success of the golf shop, player development programs, and tournament management. The ideal candidate will be a PGA or LPGA certified professional with a proven track record in golf club management.
Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the golf shop, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service. Develop and implement comprehensive golf instruction programs for players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Manage and conduct individual lessons, clinics, and playing lessons. Organize, promote, and execute club tournaments, member events, and special golf outings. Recruit, train, and supervise golf shop staff, assistants, and caddies. Maintain an appealing and well-stocked golf shop inventory, including clubs, apparel, and accessories. Manage golf cart fleet and ensure the smooth operation of practice facilities. Foster a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for all golfers. Collaborate with the Superintendent and other club departments to ensure a high-quality golfing experience. Adhere to and promote the club's rules, regulations, and etiquette. Manage player handicaps and course rating systems. Handle player inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally. Qualifications: PGA or LPGA Class A Professional certification is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Assistant or Head Golf Professional at a reputable club or facility. Demonstrated expertise in golf instruction and player development methodologies. Strong knowledge of golf shop operations, including merchandising and inventory control. Proven experience in tournament operations and event management. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in golf management software (e.g., Jonas, ForeTees, Lightspeed). A passion for the game of golf and a commitment to service excellence. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Experience in golf club fitting and club repair is a plus.
