PURPOSE: The Host is responsible for welcoming everyone who enters the building. They are the first person that members and guests will come in contact with upon entrance, setting the tone for their experience.
The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and accommodating environment for all members and guests upon arrival. This role manages reservations, provides accurate wait times, and escorts customers to designated dining and bar areas. The Host/Hostess ensures a positive dining experience from entry to departure by maintaining excellent customer service, organization, and communication with both guests and team members.
JOB TASKS AND DUTIES:
• Welcome all members and guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm and professional greeting.
• Manage reservations efficiently to optimize seating arrangements and minimize wait times.
• Escort members to their assigned dining or bar areas, providing menus and introducing their server.
• Greet members upon departure, ensuring their experience was satisfactory.
• Coordinate with wait staff to communicate seating availability and optimize service flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area, including the management of menus and promotional materials.
• Assist and cater to members who require extra attention, including children and elderly guests.
• Answer incoming phone calls, addressing member inquiries and reservation requests.
• Support wait staff as needed, ensuring smooth restaurant operations.
• Adjust music, volume, and lighting to suit the corresponding meal service and enhance the dining atmosphere.
• Build and maintain personal connections with members to enhance the club experience.
• Keep open lines of communication with the Manager on Duty (MOD) and the kitchen throughout shifts to ensure seamless service.
• Responsible for keeping the foyer and host area clean and tidy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience as a host preferred.
• Sufficient understanding and ability to speak English to successfully perform role.
• Knowledge of restaurant etiquette and hospitality standards.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Experience in managing reservations and seating arrangements.
• Excellent communication skills, both in-person and over the phone.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the dining and bar areas effectively.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
