The role of Cook 2 at Invited is a vital position within the culinary team, designed for individuals who possess a good understanding of culinary techniques and have the ability to handle more complex tasks than an entry-level Cook 1. This junior-level position plays a key role in daily kitchen operations, including the set-up, food preparation, and organization of the workstation, all while ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met. As a Cook 2, you will be responsible for preparing and storing food items, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in your work area, and assisting with menu planning and recipe development. The role also entails collaborating closely with other cooks, such as Cook 1 and Cook 3, as well as reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
In this role, you will prepare a variety of meals, including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, and baked goods, accommodating specific dietary needs and assisting in special events. You will be empowered to manage closing processes, oversee inventory control, and may take charge of a shift in the absence of senior kitchen staff. Additionally, this position demands proactive communication with chefs regarding food quality or product needs, professionalism in guest interactions, and a cooperative spirit in supporting fellow employees. Your contributions will be essential in maintaining a positive team environment that upholds the company's high service standards, known as the 3-steps of service.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the kitchen environment
• Valid Food Handler Certifications as required by state and city regulations
