About the Role
## Key Role Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional supports daily golf operations and pro-shop activities to enhance the member and guest experience. The role focuses on promoting the game of golf, coordinating events and programs, merchandising, staff training, and ensuring operations align with company and club standards. The position requires strong customer service, hands-on support of practice facilities and events, and a proactive approach to member engagement.
## What are the Key Responsibilities?
- Engage with members through golf events, personalized interactions and promotion of golf programs; participate in rounds of golf as needed to support player development initiatives.
- Support cleanliness and organization of outside areas, including staging zones, practice ranges and golf cart storage, ensuring a well-maintained environment.
- Coordinate, promote and manage tournaments and special golf-related events.
- Assist in managing the handicap program, pro-shop operations and practice facilities to deliver seamless and efficient service for members.
- Provide guidance to golf attendants, pro-shop personnel and outside services staff on customer service excellence, tee time management, check-in procedures and guest fee processing.
- Maintain consistency in operational procedures, including standards for staging areas, driving range setup and golf cart storage.
- Support the promotion of golf clinics, private lessons and specialized programs for adults, juniors and seniors.
- Assist with budgeting, inventory planning and control, including inventory procedures, stock levels, product display, pricing strategies and promotions.
- Assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management to support club operations.
- Follow company, club, and department policies and procedures; attend daily briefings and engage in required activities.
## What are the Required Qualifications?
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical duties: sitting, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, bending and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Availability and flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends and holidays, and adherence to scheduled attendance requirements.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills suitable for interacting with members, guests and colleagues.
## What are the Preferred Qualifications?
- Completion of PGA certification preferred (minimum associate level).
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to upholding high ethical work standards.

## Additional Information
- Work is primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity; regular use of sight, hearing, and speech is required.
- Primary tools/equipment include golf clubs, golf balls/tees/markers, putting mirrors/mats, and computer/tablet.
- Reports to the Head Golf Professional and is expected to take initiative in professional growth and maintain required certifications.
