Job Description: Banquet Server
Position Overview:
A banquet server plays a crucial role in the smooth execution of events at our venue. They are responsible for providing exceptional service to guests during various events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, parties, and conferences. Availability to work flexible hours during the week, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Setup: Assist in setting up ballroom according to the event requirements, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and other necessary items.
2. Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner. This may include plated meals, buffet service, or passed hors d'oeuvres, depending on the event format.
3. Guest Interaction: Greet guests upon arrival, guide them to their seats, and address any inquiries or special requests they may have. Maintain a friendly and accommodating demeanor throughout the event.
4. Table Maintenance: Ensure that tables are properly set with appropriate tableware, condiments, and decorations. Monitor tables throughout the event to promptly clear empty dishes, refill beverages, and attend to any additional needs of guests.
5. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the banquet area, including clearing tables, disposing of waste, and cleaning spills promptly. Adhere to food safety regulations and handle food and beverages with care to prevent contamination.
6. Follow Procedures: Adhere to established banquet procedures, including service standards, safety protocols, and operational guidelines. Follow instructions from supervisors and managers to ensure the successful execution of events.
7. Professionalism: Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, including wearing the designated uniform and name tag. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude while representing the venue.
8. Post-Event Cleanup: Assist in the breakdown and cleanup of the banquet area after the event concludes, including returning equipment to appropriate location, disposing of trash, and ensuring the venue is left in good condition for the next event.
Qualifications:
Availability to work flexible hours during the week, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred, especially in a banquet or event setting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact courteously and professionally with guests.
- Excellent communication with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to lift and carry trays, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and alcohol service requirements.
