Position Overview
The Short Order Cook plays a key role in delivering high-quality, consistent dining experience for our members and guests. This position is responsible for preparing made-to-order food efficiently while upholding the Club’s standards of hospitality, presentation, and culinary excellence.
As a member-focused club, our culinary team is an extension of the overall member experience — professionalism, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.
Essential Responsibilities
• Prepare and execute made-to-order menu items in a timely and consistent manner
• Operate flat top, fryer, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure all food meets Club standards for quality, temperature, and presentation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Communicate clearly with Grill Room staff to ensure accurate and timely service
• Prep work, stocking, and daily mise en place
• Monitor inventory levels and report to management
• Support special events, tournaments, and high-volume service periods as needed
Expectations
• Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Maintain professionalism in a private club environment
• Understand that consistency and hospitality are central to success
• Contribute to a welcoming and polished dining atmosphere
Requirements:
• Prior experience as a cook or line cook
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques
• Manage, rotate, and organize inventory according to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Servsafe Certification
• TIPS Certification
