Head Golf Professional

Our client, a prestigious private golf club, is seeking an accomplished and charismatic Head Golf Professional to lead all aspects of golf operations. This on-site role is pivotal to delivering an exceptional experience for club members and guests. You will be responsible for managing the pro shop, coordinating golf tournaments and events, overseeing golf instruction programs, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the golf course. This position demands exceptional interpersonal skills, a passion for golf, and strong leadership capabilities within a high-end service environment. Key responsibilities include managing golf shop inventory, merchandising, and sales, ensuring a high level of customer service. You will develop, schedule, and execute a variety of golf tournaments, leagues, and special events for members. This role involves providing high-quality golf instruction and coaching to players of all skill levels, including individual lessons, clinics, and junior programs. You will also manage and mentor assistant golf professionals and pro shop staff, ensuring they uphold the club's standards of excellence. Overseeing golf course operations, including tee time management, pace of play, and enforcing club rules, will be crucial. Building strong relationships with members and fostering a welcoming atmosphere is paramount. The ideal candidate will hold a PGA Professional certification or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in golf operations management, preferably in a private club setting. Proven experience in tournament organization, golf instruction, and staff management is required. Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills are essential. A deep understanding of golf operations, club fitting, and the golf retail market is necessary. Experience with golf course management software (e.g., Jonas, ForeTees) is a plus.
