About the Role
Watertown Country Club is looking for an individual to serve as server/bartender. This is mainly a server position for Friday night fish fry, with bartending for 1 or 2 other shifts possible, mostly evenings. Perfect for a small 2nd job! We do not stay open past midnight, and usually close by 9pm.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills as well as a good understanding of bartending. They must be friendly, passionate about service, and able to meet each customer’s needs. General bartender duties would include greeting customers, taking food and beverage orders, refilling beverages, and providing attentive service to any customer service issues. Previous restaurant and/or bartender experience is preferred.

Duties
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
• Take accurate orders from guests and relay them efficiently to kitchen staff or baristas using POS system.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests warmly, answering questions about menu items, and making personalized recommendations
• Handle cash transactions accurately through POS systems, manage cash handling procedures, and process payments promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, tables, and dining spaces in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
• Assist with food service duties during busy periods or special events like banquets or catering functions
• Monitor guest behavior to ensure safety and adherence to alcohol service regulations while promoting responsible drinking
Qualifications
• Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality roles; fine dining or nightclub experience is highly desirable
• Proficiency with POS systems, basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations professionally
• Experience in serving alcohol responsibly in accordance with local laws; knowledge of beverage preparation is a plus
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift moderate weights, and perform duties throughout long shifts
