We are currently seeking an experienced and accomplished Sous Chef to join the distinguished culinary team at Hampshire Country Club. This role is central to maintaining the club’s exceptional dining standards and ensuring member satisfaction through innovative and high-quality cuisine. The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef, acting as the second in command in the kitchen, and takes a leadership role in managing daily kitchen operations. This full-time position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 commensurate with experience, along with comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and paid time off.
The Sous Chef’s responsibilities are dynamic and multifaceted, requiring not only culinary expertise but also strong leadership and organizational skills. This individual will collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute menus, oversee food preparation, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. The position also involves employee training, cross-training, and fostering a positive work culture that promotes diversity and inclusion. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, member-focused environment where creativity, consistency, and excellence are paramount.
In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the club’s reputation for exceptional dining experiences across à la carte services and private events. When the Executive Chef is off duty, the Sous Chef assumes full responsibility for the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations and timely execution of all culinary services. This role requires a proactive approach to inventory management, vendor relations, and kitchen maintenance, ensuring that all equipment and facilities operate at optimal levels and meet health and safety regulations. Above all, the Sous Chef will lead by example, providing positive feedback and constructive coaching to kitchen staff, motivating the team to deliver outstanding food and service quality.

• Experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, garnishing, and kitchen safety
