The Sous Chef role at Invited is a pivotal position within the kitchen operations, responsible for supporting day-to-day culinary activities and ensuring the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef, the Sous Chef supervises line cooks and kitchen staff, guaranteeing consistent excellence and compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. This role requires a flexible and team-oriented individual who is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences for members and guests.
Key responsibilities include overseeing ala carte dining, employee meals, and private dining room services, expediting meal periods, assisting with menu development, and managing kitchen schedules and payroll costs. The Sous Chef also plays an essential part in hiring, training, and supervising kitchen staff while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized kitchen atmosphere.
This position demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments such as Food and Beverage and banquet teams. The successful candidate must be proactive in resolving member and guest issues while upholding Invited’s standards of professionalism and the 3-steps of service. Additional duties may include budget management, inventory control, and engaging actively in team meetings to support club operations and overall success.
