The role of Cook 3 at Invited is pivotal within the culinary team, offering a senior-level position that encompasses leadership, advanced cooking skills, and operational management within high-volume kitchen settings. This role is responsible for leading food preparation, production, and presentation in the kitchen to ensure that quality and consistency meet the exceptional standards set by Invited. As a Cook 3, you will organize and maintain your workstation meticulously, oversee the cleanliness and sanitation standards of your area, and take charge of complex culinary tasks. Additionally, you will supervise and mentor Cook 1 and Cook 2 team members, fostering their development and supporting a collaborative kitchen environment. Working closely with kitchen leadership such as the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef, you will contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and quality control to deliver an outstanding dining experience.
This position requires strong communication skills to interact professionally with members and guests, accommodate special requests, and resolve complaints effectively. It also involves managing supplies, overseeing the expediting process during meal periods, and ensuring timely delivery of orders with proper quality, portioning, and presentation. Moreover, the Cook 3 may assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef and participate actively in team meetings and training sessions. The role demands physical endurance to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, including standing for extended periods, handling heavy equipment and supplies, and working under varying conditions. • High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the kitchen environment
• Valid Food Handler Certifications as required by state and city regulations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
• Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding
• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Effective communication skills including talking and hearing with sufficient visual acuity
